Friday, October 16

Horace E. Read Lecture – The Happy Lawyer

1:30 p.m. Weldon Law Building

Professor Nancy Levit, the co-author of The Happy Lawyer: Making a Good Life in the Law and The Good Lawyer: Seeking Quality in the Practice of Law, will discuss how law compares to other occupations along various dimensions of job satisfaction, and the behavioural patterns common to happy lawyers and happy law studentsShe will present some of the cutting edge research in both neurology and social psychology about happiness and some of the myths and surprising findings about what leads to happiness in law practice.

4:00 pm. Weldon Law Building

Just for old time’s sake, sit in on a class with a law professor.

 Pre-Supper Reception

5:30 p.m.  Student Union Building, McInnes Room

Enjoy appetizers and local beer and wine with fellow law alumni and faculty as the party starts.

East Coast Lawbster Supper

6:30 p.m. Student Union Building, McInnes Room

We’ll be serving a traditional East Coast lobster supper with all the fixings (an alternative will be available for landlubbers)

Domus Night

9:00 p.m. University Club, Downstairs Pub

After the supper join the Domus Legis Society and current law students for a pub social at the University Club.

 Concert on the Quad

6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. Just outside the University Club

Join other Dalhousie alumni and students for a concert with Party Boots. Free to attend; food and drinks for purchase.



Saturday, October 17

Tiger Fun/Run Walk

8:00 a.m. registration for 9:00 a.m. start. Join alumni, students, faculty, staff and retirees for the Tiger Fun Run/Walk. A three-campus run, jog, walk or stroll for the whole family. With complimentary brunch and prizes!
